About Knott4Gotten

Built to eliminate the “48-hour gap.”

We exist to eliminate the vulnerable window immediately after release by providing immediate logistics, transportation, and peer-led accountability.

Golden Hour Gate-Side Intervention Peer Navigation Immediate Logistics

Why speed matters

  • Release without a plan creates immediate risk
  • Transportation delays compound failure
  • Lack of communication breaks continuity
  • Trust must be built instantly

The system moves slowly. Vulnerability doesn’t.

Our Mission

To eliminate the “48-hour gap” for justice-involved individuals by providing immediate logistics, transportation, and peer-led accountability.

Knott4Gotten exists to bridge the gap from the cell to the community by solving the practical barriers that crush momentum in the first hours and days after release.

Core Competencies

Knot 4 Gotten specializes in high-stakes re-entry logistics through our RAMP Rescue model.

  • Immediate Crisis Intervention: Gate-side response for individuals transitioning out of county and state facilities.
  • Logistics & Navigation: Rapid deployment of essentials (technology, hygiene, transportation) to prevent immediate failure.
  • Peer-Led Accountability: “Lived experience” mentorship and accountability to support parole/probation compliance.
  • System Navigation: Guidance through treatment/sober living intake, ID recovery, and workforce entry.

Why we’re different

48-Hour Specialists

We operate in the first minutes and hours, not weeks after release.

Founder-Led

Our founders are on the front lines, doing transport and navigation in real time.

Logistics First

Phones, rides, and coordination decide outcomes more than intentions do.

The Founders

Jacob Atkin

My name is Jacob Atkin, and I didn’t learn about re-entry from a textbook. I learned it at the jail gate.

Over the last 20 years, I spent 13 of them behind bars. I am a person in long-term recovery, but for years, I was trapped in a revolving door. I was released numerous times with the best intentions to change, but I walked out to a “nothing” — no phone, no ride, and no safe place to go.

Without a phone, I couldn’t call my Probation Officer. Without a ride, I missed my sober living intake. Without an ID, I couldn’t start work. When you walk out to nothing, you return to what you know just to survive.

I founded Knott4Gotten because I refuse to let another person fail simply because they lacked a 48-hour safety net. We provide the phone, the ride, and the navigation that I never had. I’m not just building a non-profit, I’m building the bridge that would have saved me a decade ago.

I’ve spent 13 years in the system; now, I’m spending the rest of my life making sure the next man walking out that gate is “Knott 4Gotten” by the community he’s trying to rejoin.
